Nicola Calbi
Born in Stigliano (MT), Nicola Calbi discovered house music in his teenage years—an early spark that quickly evolved into a fully formed artistic path. Influenced by peers and mentors such as Ario, Florian Meindl, Martin Patino, Gas, Gianni Callipari, Alli Borem, Outart, Manfredi Romano, and Alex Picone, Nicola crafted a signature sound shaped by organic, minimal, tribal, electronic, and Latin influences. His music blends multiple perspectives with instrumental and folkloric roots, resulting in a distinctive sonic identity.
Nicola’s debut release came in 2011 under the alias “Once Upon a Time” on Florian Meindl’s Flash Records. Shortly after, he began releasing a steady stream of high-quality productions under his own name on respected imprints including Hottrax, Desolat, Wow! Recordings, Deeperfect, Sanity, D-Floor, Clarisse Records, Drumma Records, and Aprapta Music, among many others.
